Our guided tour will allow you to get to know the Observatory and the activity of the researchers who work in it in a pleasant way.

The Canary Islands are one of the three best places on the planet for observing the sky, along with Chile and Hawaii.

The Teide Observatory is the largest solar observatory in the world and has a large number of solar and night telescopes owned by various European countries.

The guided visit to the Teide Observatory can be done by going directly on your own or by booking the Teide Tour with Observatory or Astronomical Tour excursions. Select the best option for you by clicking on the reservation menu below.

If you want to take the guided tour of the Observatory on your own, you must be at the Izaña Observatory 15 minutes before it begins.

Observatory visits are conducted in Spanish, English, German, French and/or Russian.

The Teide Observatory is located at 2,390 m. altitude, in the area of Izaña. It has its entrance at km 37 of the TF-24 main road.

Details

For visits on your own, you must take into account:
You must be 15 minutes before the start of the visit at the entrance of the Observatory. In the event that you did not arrive on time and the visit had begun, you will not be able to access the premises and you will be able to do it another day.
There is a distance of 2 km from the meeting point at the barrier to the interior of the facilities, so the visitor who goes directly must have a vehicle, or in case of going by taxi, the taxi must accompany them until inside the facilities and must remain inside the enclosure until the end of the activity. Access to the premises by bicycle is not allowed.
Children under 8 years are not allowed.
Guides available only in Spanish, English and/or German.
Optionally you have transportation, booking the excursions Teide Tour with Observatory or Astronomic Tour.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS:
In the event that the Teide Observatory cannot be accessed for technical reasons or adverse weather conditions, the amount paid for the activity will be refunded. In case of cloudiness at the Observatory, the usual itinerary of the visit may be modified.

It is possible to modify the date or proceed with the cancellation, free of charge, before 3:00 p.m. the day before the activity. The same or later day has a cost of 6 euros per person.

Date changes are valid for 1 year if the reservation has not been exchanged. The modification of the date or the cancellation must be made within a period not exceeding 30 days from the date of the initial reservation. Up to 3 changes can be made.
